Stripping or green pruning includes several important activities performed on the vines. First comes desuckering, to identify the best shoots for grape cultivation. This is followed by trellising; as vines are creeping plants, they must be supported and guided along the wires. Last is the delicate task of thinning, where smaller branches are removed to allow air to reach the grapes.
We brought these two months of hard work to a close with our now-traditional relaxed team meal.
